Privacy update on Google+: Lock your posts and disable comments

Google is constantly adding new features to Google+, and after a feature that allows you to share your circles with your friends, Google decided to add few minor features that protect your privacy.


Great thing about Google+ is that you can choose with whom do you wish to share your posts, but there’s no way to prevent your friends from sharing your posts with their friends. Users have been asking for this feature for a while, so Google added it to Google+ recently. Now before sharing something with your circles, you can lock your post so your friends won’t be able to share that post with others. In addition, you can disable comments, but disabling comments won’t stop others from sharing your post.

Google’s mobile payment system Google Wallet is available for public

You’ve probably heard about Google Wallet, a new mobile payment system developed by Google that was introduced in May. If you’re interested in Google Wallet, we’re glad to inform you that Google Wallet is now available for public use.

Google releases Swiffy which converts Flash to HTML5

If you access Google Labs you can now find the first version of Swiffy. For those of you who don’t know what Swiffy is – it’s a new tool from Google which can transform swf files into HTML5. It’s very easy to use, all you have to do is to upload your swf files and this tool will do the rest, after which you can take the HTML code that it generates and insert it into your pages. After Google’s problems with China, the search engine giant is once again having problems but this time with another country – Italy.

Google Technology for Driverless Cars

Not many of us might have heard of Sebastien Thrun. He is the master mind behind one of the most successful and flawless technology today to give us driverless cars. He has his own reasons that made him come up with what today is the most sought after driverless technology, he lost his best friend in a car accident when he was 18.
The two test cars that are being seen in the footage are the Toyota Prius for city and highway driving and a Volkswagen Passat. As seen in the footage, both of these vehicles did exceptionally well in understanding there nearby surroundings and acted very intelligently and look reliable in there respective terrains.

Google enables site blocking for its users

Not a while ago, Google released a Chrome extension that allows its users to block certain sites from showing up on their search results. This was a great extension, but now, Google has decided to add a blocking feature without any additional extension needed to all of its users.

This extension works great, but it was limited only to Chrome users, therefore, Google decided to add support for all users using their service, no matter what browser they are using.

Google gives birth to Androids x30 faster than man to babies

Here’s an interesting find of the day, apparently Google activates way more Androids compared to humans with a current pace of 350.000 activations per day. Check out the video below for a clever infographic-like take on how Android is quickly becoming the preferred mobile OS around the world.

 

The funny part is, if everybody in California (the mother land of Apple) was buying an Android device exclusively the whole state would be saturated in about 4 months from now. Did you know that only a mere 1% uses the latest greatest Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS – that is surely a statement which Google should do something about.

Google uses kill switch to remove 260,000 installed apps worldwide

It appears that Google is experiencing some problems with the Android Market, and due to these problems, it seems that Google has to use its infamous kill switch as a last resort.
According to latest news, 58 apps on Android Market were found sending personal information from Android devices and were installing security holes, so Google had to remove them from the Android Market.
However damage has already been done, and according to reports, these apps got about 260,000 downloads which means that there were 260,000 victims out there.

Google Chrome 10 released, faster and with new settings interface



It was just like a month or so ago when Google just rolled out version 9 of their Chrome browser and now they’ve released 10. The newest upgrade includes a faster Crankshaft JavaScript engine and an overhauled settings interface that is a departure of the previous tabbed pop-up window design.

Gmail encounters problems, up to 200 000 users affected

Although Gmail might be the most popular webmail service, it doesn’t mean that it’s perfect. Many users have reported yesterday with certain issues with their Gmail accounts.



Can you imagine the surprise of seeing your Gmail inbox empty when you login in the morning? This might be quite shocking for you, especially if you keep all sorts of important data within your emails. According to the latest news, it seems that the number of users with this problem was estimated to be up to 200,000, but luckily, Gmail has already been restored for some of these users, and we’re expecting that Google will fix this flaw in near future.

Google Android 3.0 “Honeycomb” reviewed




The arrival of the Motorola Xoom also meant the arrival of the tablet-specific Android named Honeycomb. Having said that previous versions of Android weren’t really meant for tablets, what should we expect from this version that aims to bring the tablet experience further? Google updates Social Search

Google is constantly trying to improve their search engine, and recently, Google has added several social search engine changes, so let’s have a look at them.

Now when you perform a search on Google while you’re logged into your Google account, you’ll see social search results along with your standard search results. This improved search will show you links related to your search terms posted by the people you know on other social sites such as Twitter and Flickr.
