New way to get more electricity out of water

Scientists are discovering all sorts of amazing things that make our lives easier every day. Since preservation of energy is one major concern in this century, scientist have found a way to create electricity from water in a more efficient manner.

One MIT chemistry and engineering researcher, Daniel Nocera has found a way to create electricity from water in a more efficient manner than conventional solar cells. According to the results,
it seems that this method can provide enough electric power for a whole house for an entire day from just one and a half bottles of wastewater.
This method of creating electric power from water is inspired by plants and photosynthesis process, and thanks to it, Daniel Nocera managed to create an artificial “leaf” that uses cobalt and phosphate to split water molecules. After splitting comes the process in which oxygen and hydrogen recombine creating electricity, that is on a higher level than conventional electricity produced with solar cells.
This is an amazing discovery, and we can’t wait until scientist have perfect it so we can use it in everyday life.
